Date: Friday, November 10, 2023 Milwaukee Women in the Workplace Study About Our Speakers: Krista Brookman, is Senior Director, Diversity and Inclusion at Northwestern Mutual after serving nearly a decade as Vice President, Learning and Advisory Services at Catalyst, the leading non-profit organization focused on accelerating progress for women through workplace inclusion. In her role at NM, Krista leads the Women’s Initiative efforts to maximize strategic growth, foster a culture of belonging, and positively impact D&I outcomes for the attraction, retention, and advancement of women. Her most recent accomplishment was the creation and leadership of NM’s first-ever WISE Women’s Summit which convened 1400 women and allies enterprise-wide. She has over 20 years of experience, including her previous role at Deloitte, where she created and successfully launched the Women in Manufacturing initiative while serving in marketing and business leadership roles. Krista is involved in several professional organizations including Professional Dimensions and Milwaukee Women inc. She is the Chair of Marquette University’s Institute for Women’s Leadership (IWL) advisory council and serves on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO). Krista also serves on the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) DEI Committee. Krista joined TEMPO in 2010. Jasmine Johnson serves as Versiti Wisconsin's Area Vice President and Director of Donor Services where her top priority is to lead the Donor Services team in its pursuit of meeting the demand of blood products needed to serve patients. With extensive experience in community advocacy, Jasmine also oversees the team leading Versiti’s ThriveOn King collaboration, a new community resource and permanent blood donation center on Milwaukee’s North Side. Scheduled to open in 2024, the nearly 3,500 square-foot facility will serve as a community hub for Versiti, focused on providing resources to address healthcare disparities in Milwaukee neighborhoods through training, employment, education, and blood donation. Prior to joining Versiti, she served on the senior leadership team at Milwaukee’s iHeartMedia Markets Group as Vice President of Sales. Johnson also served in roles at some of the largest global brands, including Pfizer Inc., Walgreens and ManpowerGroup. She was recently named one of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2023 Power Brokers and was selected as a participant of the 2020 Young American Leaders Program through Harvard Business School. She holds a MS in Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a BS in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Jasmine joined TEMPO in 2021. Jennica Webster, PhD, is a distinguished scholar serving as the Director of the Institute of Women’s Leadership and Professor of Management. Her research centers on diversity and well-being, with a particular emphasis on exploring the unique challenges faced by women and marginalized communities in the workplace. Webster's current work explores how colleagues can be effective advocates for those who encounter identity-based oppression, the impact of identity-related social trauma on the experience of interpersonal workplace stress, and how leader family-to-work conflict bias can cause social isolation for women. Her research is published in leading academic journals and featured in top business outlets such as the Harvard Business Review. She is a Forbes contributor on issues related to DEI and her research has been recognized and supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Webster is a recipient of the Fellows of the Academy of Management’s Award for Responsible Research in Management and Marquette’s Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. She is passionate about teaching DEI to current and next-generation business leaders and provides consulting to companies working towards creating transformative environments through a lens of belonging, inclusion, and empathy.
