Event Description: 

The Milwaukee Health Department works to advance the health and equity of Milwaukeeans by creating policies, delivering programs and services to Milwaukee residents, funding local health initiatives and advocating for community health. At the top of these initiatives is TEMPO member Kirsten Johnson, Milwaukee’s Health Commissioner.

Join us for our September program meeting where Kirsten will share her leadership journey. Kirsten will also dive into what Milwaukee’s Public Health 3.0 plan means in focusing on social determinants of health, racism as a public health issue and the overall priorities she and her team are working to address moving forward. Kirsten will also share the ins and outs of the Milwaukee Health Department’s new strategic plan which includes priorities such as multiple pandemic response, violence, lead, and infant mortality.
