TEMPO Milwaukee Joins Play It Forward Wisconsin Coalition and Pledges Support of Proposed Arena

Organization Says Sports & Entertainment Complex Important for Business Development, Attracting & Retaining Talent

Milwaukee – April 22, 2015 – TEMPO Milwaukee, an executive women’s business organization, today announced it is joining the Play It Forward Wisconsin Coalition in support of the proposed sports and entertainment arena for downtown Milwaukee.

“A key goal of TEMPO Milwaukee is to advocate on behalf of key issues and initiatives critical to women leaders, the success of businesses and organizations, and the vitality of the region,” said Jennifer Dirks, CEO of TEMPO Milwaukee. “We believe the proposed construction of a new sports and entertainment arena in downtown Milwaukee is important for our community. We are in support of efforts by the Coalition and the Milwaukee Bucks to find a feasible solution to help keep the Bucks in Milwaukee and allow the organization to thrive long into the future.”

TEMPO Milwaukee’s membership consists of CEOs, board directors, executives, entrepreneurs, government officials, and other professionals. The organization is one of the largest and most influential professional women’s organizations in the state and its members are committed to the future success of the business community and region. TEMPO Milwaukee believes efforts to attract and retain top professionals – especially women – to the Milwaukee area are critical, as talented leaders are at the core of a successful organization and region.

The Play It Forward Wisconsin Coalition was established in 2014 and is a non-partisan group of individuals and organizations committed to coming together to help shape Wisconsin’s future.

TEMPO Milwaukee joins the Coalition, along with a host of other organizations that already have pledged support of the arena, including the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors, the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin, The Business Council, Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee, Milwaukee Urban League, Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals,  Westown Association, NEWaukee and FUEL Milwaukee.
