TEMPO Milwaukee Survey Examines #MeToo's Impact

2019 survey of men and women finds #MeToo has raised awareness, changed perceptions
about sexual harassment, with some repercussions.

Eighteen months after the #MeToo movement garnered worldwide headlines, a TEMPO Milwaukee survey of 280 women and 103 men finds local awareness about the #MeToo movement is at a very high level and that both incidents of and perceptions about sexual harassment in the workplace have changed.

TEMPO Milwaukee partnered with Greater Milwaukee Committee, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Professional Dimensions and Rotary Club of Milwaukee to broaden the survey’s reach beyond its own membership and include males’ perspectives.

In January 2018, TEMPO Milwaukee brought attention to Milwaukee’s own challenges with sexual harassment. The organization surveyed its membership of female C-Suite executives and senior leaders and found nearly two-thirds of respondents had experienced sexual harassment in the workplace.
