February Professional Development Session
Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM CDT
Category: Professional Development Series

Date: Wednesday, February 11, 2026
Time: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Venue 3

Event Description:
Today’s workplaces are more multigenerational than ever, bringing incredible opportunity alongside real complexity. How do women navigate differing expectations, communication styles, and leadership approaches across generations? And how can women in senior leadership roles intentionally shape environments where the next generation of professional women can thrive?

In this Professional Development Series session, attendees will hear from TEMPO member Mary McCormick and Emerging Women Leader Selena Cole in a candid, reflective conversation, moderated by fellow TEMPO member Diana Barnett, as Mary prepares her workplace for her upcoming retirement. Together, they will explore lessons learned across their careers from middle management to retirement, the importance of women serving as allies to one another across generations, and the deliberate choices leaders can make to create space, opportunity, and visibility for emerging women leaders.

This moderated conversation will examine how workplace cultures evolve, what it means to lead with legacy in mind, and how senior leaders can proactively prepare their organizations for generational transition—without losing momentum or institutional knowledge.

Participants are encouraged to come ready to engage and reflect, including:

  • What would you tell your younger self about navigating workplace culture, leadership, and boundaries?
  • What would you tell your older self about adaptability, allyship, and making room for what comes next?
  • How can women, at every career stage, support one another in building inclusive, sustainable leadership pathways?

This session is ideal for women at all career stages who are interested in intergenerational collaboration, leadership development, and shaping workplaces that work for today and for the future.
