August WAA Quarterly Event
Wednesday, August 24, 2022, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM CDT
Category: Women's Affinity Alliance

Date: Wednesday, August 24, 2022
Time: 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Virtual via Zoom

Event Description:
The term “burnout” usually evokes scenarios such as work stress, balancing jobs with families and trying to meet aggressive project deadlines. Add a pandemic, social unrest and the great resignation to the mix and it can seem overwhelming. Volunteerism, programming and making a difference, is thought to enrich our lives, gives us a chance to ‘give back’ or at the very least have some fun. In many cases, employees are giving back of their time through ERGs for these very reasons. Yet ERG-burnout is real.

During this WAA quarterly event, we will hear from two experts about ways for ERGs to re-engage, retain and rise above the burnout. What are the mental health ramifications of ERG leaders who are doing it all – in addition to their day job – and not feeling the energy to keep things afloat? What about ERG leaders who feel like they are the only active member of the ERG? How do you motivate, retain and encourage others to share your ERG passion?
