Impact on Business & Leisure Travel

The travel industry is one of the hardest hit by the Coronavirus pandemic. With both national and international travel restrictions in place, individuals and businesses have had to make extreme changes to the way business is conducted. As travel restrictions lift and reopening phases continue to advance, we are now faced with many questions and considerations on how to travel again, safely. Risk, comfort, confidence, expense, return on investment, etc. are all considerations that must be assessed before returning to travel as we once knew it. Join us as LeAnne Foster, Managing Director with Water Street Advisors moderates a conversation with three TEMPO Milwaukee members who each have a unique perspective on how travel, meetings and events have evolved in the last six months and where it will go. Andrea Foster, Senior Vice President of Development with Marcus Hotels & Resorts, will provide insight into the stats and state the hospitality aspect of travel including changes to physical space, heightened precautions, and the impact of closing entire hotels and working through reopening. Kathryn Gleesing, President & CEO of Dm-Connection & Events, will speak to the impact that business-related events (or lack thereof at this time) have on the travel industry, how organizations have had to pivot to virtual gatherings, and what this will mean for the industry as a whole moving forward. Rachel Byers, Director of Global HR with Rexnord, will share how her company is managing business travel, reworking reimbursement packages, and the other considerations related to allowing employees to travel when necessary but in a safe and smart manner.
