TEMPO Real Talks: Just Show UpDate: Tuesday, June 2nd TEMPO advocates for all women, yet our membership is composed of 88 percent white women. We recognize we have much work to do to create an inclusive environment. We also have an opportunity - and an obligation - to harness the power of the TEMPO network to create change both within our organization and within the community. One way we are doing so is by hosting TEMPO Real Talks conversations (virtual for now) around racism, white privilege, implicit bias and other topics that have been avoided for far too long. Join us for the inaugural TEMPO Real Talks session. This first discussion will not be structured, or formal, but a safe space for our members to come together – have thoughtful, courageous and vulnerable dialogue. We are asking our members to show up, even if just to listen, but to be a part of this important conversation. Members of the TEMPO Diversity & Inclusion committee will moderate small group discussions. We will continue these sessions and transition into more a formal, structured, education for our members. We will base our second discussion from the book White Fragility with a discussion led by Janette Braverman. We encourage our members to purchase, download, or listen to a copy and join us for the discussion in the coming weeks. Register here. |
