TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation Announces Second Annual Continuing Education Grant Recipients
Four grants totaling nearly $12,300 awarded to local women

MILWAUKEE (MAY 1, 2019) – The TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation, the 501(c)3 charitable arm of TEMPO Milwaukee, has awarded nearly $12,300 in Continuing Education Grants to four local women. This is the second year in a row the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation has provided the grant to professional women to be used for leadership development and continuing education programs.

  • Jackie Folak, Program Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Camp Witcomb/Mason, will receive a grant to cover enrollment in the University of Illinois at Chicago’s online certificate course in Nonprofit Management.
  • Mariel Hildenbrand, Grant and Contract Compliance Manager at WWBIC, will receive a grant to support her participation in the International Economic Development Council’s 2019 Annual Conference & Real Estate Development Reuse Workshop.
  • Felisa Parris, Associate Director of Administration, Curriculum and Evaluation at Marquette University, will receive a grant to support her participation in the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale University.
  • Kiley Peters, Owner and CEO at Brainchild Studios, will receive a grant to cover her attendance at the “Money Matters for Agency Owners” workshop led by the Agency Management Institute.  

“We were so excited to be able to split the grant this year among four high caliber professional women looking to take their careers to the next level through continued education,” said Jennifer Dirks, President and CEO of TEMPO Milwaukee. “We can’t wait to see the impact that these chosen programs have on the recipients and in turn, our community.”

The purpose of the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation Continuing Education Grant is to encourage leadership development and recognize women who are having or will have an impact in the community. Applications were submitted between February 1, 2019 and March 1, 2019. The recipients were publicly announced at TEMPO Milwaukee’s Annual Meeting on April 18.

“TEMPO Milwaukee’s mission is to further the impact of women leaders, and we’re grateful to be able to give back and help deserving professional women in Milwaukee accelerate their careers through this grant,” said Jody Lowe, President/Managing Director of The Lowe Group, and board member for both TEMPO Milwaukee and the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation.
