TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation Announces Inaugural Continuing Education Grant Recipients
Two grants totaling $15,000 awarded

MILWAUKEE (April 20, 2018) - The TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation, the 501(c)3 charitable arm of TEMPO Milwaukee, has selected two local women to receive the first-ever Continuing Education Grants totaling $15,000.

  • Valentina Bosco, Human Resources Director for Johnson Controls Power Solutions, will receive a grant to support her participation in the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
  • Shelly Roder, Director of Outreach Ministries at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will receive a grant to support her participation in University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Professional Life Coaching Certificate program.

“As evidenced by the caliber and diversity of applications we received from women throughout the Milwaukee area, continuing education is a necessary tool to accelerate women to higher leadership positions,” said Jennifer Dirks, President and CEO of TEMPO Milwaukee. “We are thrilled to offer Valentina and Shelly the opportunity to attend their programs of choice and take their careers to new levels.”

The purpose of the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation Continuing Education Grant is to encourage leadership development and recognize women who are having or will have an impact in the community. More than two dozen applications were received between December 12, 2017 and March 2, 2018. The recipients were publicly announced at TEMPO Milwaukee’s Annual Meeting on April 19.

“TEMPO Milwaukee’s mission is to further the impact of women leaders, and we’re grateful to have this new avenue to help deserving professional women in Milwaukee accelerate their careers,” said Jody Lowe, President/Managing Director of The Lowe Group, and board member for both TEMPO Milwaukee and the TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation.

The TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation’s Continuing Education Grant will be offered annually to one or multiple recipients. Visit tempomilwaukee.org/foundation to learn more.
